These cylinders provide virtually frictionless conversion of pneumatic pressure to linear force. The fact that there is no stiction or blow-by of any kind ensures accuracy, repeatability and sensitivity unheard of from conventional sliding seal air cylinders.

The rolling diaphragm creates the perfect seal for friction-free cylinders. It is a durable membrane shaped like a top hat with the peak of the hat fastened to the piston and the "brim" clamped to the cylinder cap. The side wall of the diaphragm is convoluted so that it rolls with the piston as it travels on its path. Pneumatic pressure harnessed this way results in an efficient, repeatable force unmatched by other designs.
