Motors

Winding type is shown by the 7th and 8th characters in the motor description, except for type K products. Winding type is shown by the 2nd and 3rd characters for type K products. Permanent split capacitor motors (require capacitors), types CI and YC, are designed for single speed applications, with up to 10 starts per minute, using single phase power. Split phase motors, types SI and SY, are designed for single speed applications, with up to 6 starts per hour, using single phase power. Three phase motors, types PP and YP, are designed for single speed applications, with up to 10 starts per minute, using three phase power. Pacesetter three phase motors, Models 2201-2299, may be used with inverters for variable speed operation.

Brushless motors may be operated from either 24 or 130v. Each brushless motor requires an individual control. Brushless motors, type BL, are the most compact of any motor type. Like a permanent magnet motor, they are mathematically predictable, can produce high starting torque and can be decelerated rapidly. Like an AC motor, they have no brushes to wear out and are zero maintenance. When used with a suitable speed control, they can provide variable speed with up to 10 starts per minute.
